Exhibition “Montana – a look towards the ages”
from march 2000 till december 2001
The exposition is dedicated to the 80 years anniversary from the birth of Georgi Aleksnadrov (1920-1999), famous archeologist from Montana. Museum exponents from the collections of department “Archeology” are represented in the exhibition. The flint, stone, marble, clay, metal, glass and pottery objects trace the development of Montana and the region from the stone-copper age to the end of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom.
Exhibition “A Walk through Ferdinand”
from october till december 2001
Opened for the 110-th anniversary since promoting the village Goliama Kutlovitsa to a town named Ferdinand. With the help of strictly selected documents, photos and other objects from the museum collections, the visitors are dipped in the atmosphere of the town from the first half of 20-th century. It has been a time of significant growth of the town and increasing of its population. Crafts and trading are successfully developed, and the first recognition comes from the Trading and commercial exhibition in Plovdiv in 1892. An uplift in the cultural and spiritual life is noticeable, too. The Orthodox temple “St. St. Ciryl and Methodius” and the community center “Razum” (reason, mind – in Bulgarian) prove to be real guardian of the Bulgarian traditions. The so improvised stroll takes us back to the town of Ferdinand such, as it was in the middle of the 20-th century.
